Fans are hopping mad over Disney World's resolve to shut down Mr. Toad's Wild Ride after Monday. The much-loved attraction, based on the 1949 movie, opened with the park in 1971. Protesters have staged "toad-ins" at the park and hired a plane to fly over with a "Save Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" banner. They even have a web site (www.savetoad.com). But it hasn't swayed Disney, which plans a Winnie the Pooh attraction for the site. One consolation: Mr. Toad lives on (at least for now) at Disneyland in California.
The article included a photo of people exiting the right side of The Ride, with the caption: "Oh, Pooh! Mr. Toad's ride is out; Winnie the Pooh is in."
