Save the
Toad: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride has been a tradition at Walt Disney
World since the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971. Now Disney is considering
demolishing the ride to make room for a Winnie-the-Pooh attraction. That
has drawn protests from those who love the aging Mr. Toad, warts and all.
On Sunday, Mr. Toad supporters will stage a "toad-in" at noon in front of
the ride - the second such demonstration this month. For details on the
protest and the controversy, see the "Save Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" page on
the Web. Maybe Microsoft would agree to sponsor the ride, with the slogan,
"Where do you want to go, Toady?"
