• Contents:
  • Chapters 1-6. Linear equations; Matrix algebra; Determinants; Vector spaces; Eigenvalues and eigenvectors, Orthogonality and Least Squares.

• Grading:

  There will be homework, weekly quizzes, 2 Midterms and a Final. THERE WILL BE NO MAKE-UP EXAMS. The method to obtain your grade will be:

  • Homework (10%), Quizzes (10%), best midterm (30%), worst midterm (10%), Final (40%)

  Grading scale:

  • (A-,A): (90-92.5,>93)
  • (B-,B,B+): (80-83,83-87,87-90)
  • (C-,C,C+): (70-73,73-77,77-80)
  • (D,D+): (63-67,67-70)
  • F: <63%

• Homework:

  • Homework assignments will be posted at http://www.math.miami.edu/~bdeolive/hw210S19.html on Fridays and are due the next Thursday. Late homework will not be accepted. Only the star questions will be graded, but I will assume in the quizzes and exams that you have done all questions of the homework.

• Midterms and Final:
